Greencore Northampton wins internationally recognised health and safety accolade
Local convenience food manufacturer, Greencore, is celebrating 23 colleagues at its salads site in Spalding on completing its bespoke professional development programme ‘Line Coordinator Framework’.
We’re thrilled to learn that Greencore Degree Apprentice, Noah Modi has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Apprentice of the Year – Food Manufacturing & Service Industries category at this year’s NTU Apprenticeship Awards. Greencore is also shortlisted in the Equality & Diversity category.
Greencore Product Development Controller, Kelly Merry, together with some colleagues represented Greencore at a careers event at Penistone Grammar School in January.
Greencore’s latest on-site colleague shop opened at our Manton 110 distribution centre in Worksop, making it the first colleague shop in our Direct to Store network. Our growing network of colleague shops enables Greencore colleagues to purchase good, surplus food products from across our business at heavily discounted prices.
Greencore Kiveton, a leading manufacturer of chilled ready meals, soups and quiche, was delighted to welcome the Master Cutler, Dame Julie Kenny DBE DL, head of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire to its site as part of a recent visit. Dame Julie Kenny met with Greencore Kiveton General Manager, Darren Haywood, and took part in a tour of the site’s state of the art manufacturing facilities.
We’re delighted to learn that Greencore has been recognised with a GroceryAid Gold Award for the support we have given them through raising awareness, fundraising and volunteering throughout 2022. GroceryAid is our industry charity and it provides industry colleagues with emotional, financial, and practical help every day. Last year they provided 28,204 instances of support across the industry, and we are extremely grateful for the support they provide to our colleagues.
