We are proud to be sponsoring Bristol Pride as partners this year for the first time. Pride gives LGBT+ communities the opportunity to both celebrate the advances that have been made in equality and make a stand against discrimination and hate crime.
We’re fundraising for the registered charity Bristol Pride this week and marching along with other Bristol LGBT+ Networks and groups this weekend. We hope to see many of you joining in the celebrations, of which more information can be found here:
Another year, another HL Touch Rugby Tournament. With almost 10% of the entire workforce in attendance, it made for a gripping evening. The 'Marketing Bears' lost their defending title to ‘College Red in the Face’.
We were also delighted to welcome the Bristol Bears Touch Rugby team to this year's event - great to have their support and even better that one team beat them!
All in all, a great success and a fantastic turn out from staff.
The final few sessions to our Healthy Mind Week are all about mindfulness. We're giving staff the chance to take some time out to experience an introduction to mindfulness. Guaranteed to leave them feeling more relaxed after the session!
Next up in our Healthy Mind week was an engaging session to understand your personal resilience. Staff left this session with tips and techniques to nip stress in the bud and harness the power of positive thinking.
We understand the importance of mental health, hence why we've dedicated a whole week to it at work. Part of that includes an informal session for staff to attend, in order to understand mental health in more detail, how to spot the signs and how to support each other effectively.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a healthy and happy workplace, we are hosting Healthy Mind Week. This week of events includes talks from the NHS on therapies, to pilates and yoga classes, mindfulness and panel discussions on mental health.
Great insight from the Google I/O keynote which we streamed last night.
We look forward to seeing its planned improvements to AI, Google lens and phones. But our favourite learning is that Google is encouraging kids to be more polite, by adding pretty please to voice instructions.
We were delighted to welcome Jo Fairley, the co-founder of Green & Black’s, into our office today. She shared her lessons learned through her roller coaster journey in setting up Green & Black’s, from inception to being bought by Cadbury’s. In particular we’re keen to learn how to deal with challenges practically and emotionally.
Pete Bailie from VOX Coaching is back in our office for the final day of our Personal Development Week.
He’s providing valuable insight into how status, personal dynamics and power structures can be used to boost our ability to interact with others. This course will show us how to communicate in a confident, engaging and authentic way.
Suzanne Viant, our Head of Learning and Development, will be hosting a panel looking into the career development of our five panellists;
- Ellen Powley (Senior Fund Manager)
- Jon Stevens (Advisory Service Team Manager)
- Shan Chen (Lead Business Analyst)
- Elle Spencer (Head of Marketing Communications)
- Mark Kenyon (Senior Reward Manager - HR)
The idea behind this discussion is to give colleagues the opportunity to learn more about their roles and departments to help further their careers.
