Reflecting on what it was like to work with our founder, Bill Kimpton, rings true to the legacy that we base our culture on today. Heartfelt, human connection is not just something we want for our guests, but our employees too.
Inclusion starts with representation and empowerment. This philosophy is an ongoing goal and commitment for Kimpton.
A global consumer survey revealed an overwhelming desire for inclusive and authentic travel content on social media. In response, Kimpton founded the first-ever ‘Stay Human’ Creator Collective, a group of six diverse creators from around the world and worked closely with them to inform a new set of commitments to better reflect the diversity of real travelers in our social media content. Our Chief Commercial Officer, Kathleen Reidenbach puts it perfectly, “ We want our guests and our employees to be comfortable and embraced for being their most authentic selves, no matter their pronoun, skin color or body type. However, we know that social media and marketing content within the travel industry hasn’t always reflected the people and experiences that truly make up our global community. That’s why we are committed to diving deeper into the foundation of our Stay Human brand ethos with new brand commitments that will continue to change the way we work with creators, the imagery we share and the experiences we offer." What you want, baby we got it. What you need, do you know we got it? It’s our new #KimptonEdit and, girl, it’s Good as Hell. We’re celebrating Women’s History Month and all of the strong, intelligent, resilient, and innovative women we know and those who have paved the way before them. This year's theme is all about valiant women, refusing to be silenced. We took the theme pretty (read: very) literally and created a power playlist of kick-ass anthems from our favorite female artists. With hits from Stevie Nicks, Lizzo, Christina Aguilera and so many more, we hope these tunes will empower, inspire and motivate you all month long.
We think we have a pretty good thing going at Kimpton. But don’t just take our word for it. The authorities at Travel Leisure have spoken, and we couldn’t be more honored that 13 of our hotels have been included on this year’s T L 500 List. It recognizes the best hotels around the world, and we’re thrilled to find ourselves in such great company. Check us out below until you can see us in person again.
This year, to honor Black History Month, we’re spotlighting Black culture, businesses, and history (of course) on our blog all month long. This five-part series will spotlight how Black history and culture have shaped some of the U.S.’s most popular destinations — while recommending great Black-owned businesses to support along the way. Join us in reading along. Link in bio. #blackhistorymonth

We’re not perfect, but we’re proud to say our score on Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for LGBTQ-inclusive workplace policies and practices is. Sorry if that sounded braggy, but we’re just oh-so proud to announce that Kimpton has once again earned the distinction of being a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ equality for the 16th year. Since our founding over three decades ago, we have believed that all employees deserve the opportunity to live authentically and thrive at work. A huge and heartfelt shout out to all of our employees who made this possible by choosing love and acceptance every single day. #CEI2021
Kimpton has made the Great Place to Work - Best Workplaces for Parents list for 2020!
his year as we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, the world looks different. We've seen people from around the world come together to stand up for racial equality, have difficult conversations about systemic racism, and have a look at their own communities to see where they can make a change. Celebrating the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this year is important, maybe more so than ever before. Our hotels and restaurants are honoring his legacy in many ways, from installations by Black artists in our lobbies to restaurant specials that benefit the National Urban League. We’re proud of the creative ideas they’ve put into motion today. This mixed media mannequin piece is called “Fertility Goddess” by artist Annick Duvivier, and it is being featured along with pieces from other Black artists at our hotels in Miami this weekend.
