In a recent article from Employee Benefits, our Chief People Officer Lisa Townsend is featured speaking to how supporting the mental health of our colleagues is 'not a one-size-fits-all approach'. "We recognise that staff may feel more comfortable seeking support outside of MONY, so together with Telus Health, we have a free 24/7 confidential wellbeing helpline” she says. “We have employee resource groups which connect staff across our offices and explore topics like representation and our community charity projects. The groups play a part in helping us celebrate our differences and instil a sense of belonging.” Read the full article here - https://lnkd.in/e-xbDHRi https://lnkd.in/egzF2xcZ
This week we welcomed Sabah Choudrey, co-founder of Trans Pride Brighton, to share their experiences of LGBTQ+ and Person of Colour (PoC) communities in the UK. Sabah hosted a conversation around trans identities and practical tips to practice inclusivity. A phrase that stuck with us was the ask to "Affirm us. Protect us. Love us." Not only was it a pleasure to meet Sabah, and find out more about allyship and intersectionality, but now we all aspire to have a headshot as beautiful as this!
It’s never easy to communicate just how much passion and knowledge an individual has for a topic and a business - especially in a video - but we think we may have managed it here. Meet our Chief Technology Officer, Michael Smith, who has been a part of our executive team since 2019, having previously worked with us as a Dev Ops Engineer in 2014. Watch below to not only understand Mikey’s deep dedication to encouraging and supporting careers in engineering, but also to get a feel for what it’s like working at MONY Group too.
Earlier this month we chose to stand against suicide in the The Mental Health World Cup at QPR's Loftus Road Stadium in aid of our charity partner Campaign Against Living Miserably. We're thankful for the opportunity not only to take part on the day, but also to have been headline sponsors for the event which raised almost £200K in vital funds for CALM and other mental health community initiatives. As from Monday 20 May 2024 we have announced that Moneysupermarket Group plc is changing its name to MONY Group plc. This change reflects how the Group has evolved in recent years to become the UK’s leading listed tech-based savings platform, supporting not only its own well-trusted brands, MoneySuperMarket, MoneySavingExpert and Quidco, but also those of leading third-party businesses. This expansion beyond the original price comparison website (MoneySuperMarket) means being named after just one of our consumer brands no longer represents the extent of our business today. We’re now aligning the Group name with our stock market ticker and removing the confusion between the Group and one of our brands. What is a ticker? it is a symbol, a unique combination of letters and numbers that signifies a specific stock or security on an exchange. Our portfolio of brand names remains unchanged it’s just a new name for the Group. MONY Group #Careers #BelongAtMONY #HelpingHousholdsSave
People Insight Stories What is your role here? “I am a Senior Risk Manager at the Group; my primary role is to enable our product and commercial teams to achieve their goals while remaining within our risk appetite.” Proudest career moment whilst working here? “Getting to work on our climate risk management framework. It is refreshing to work for a company which is committed to reducing its carbon emissions and achieve these reductions. The pride comes from seeing small changes make a big difference.” What are you doing currently with your own Personal Development, any great books or podcasts you’d recommend? “I would 100% recommend people to read the book “Our final warning: Six degree of climate emergency”, it is scary reading but worth it. The book explains climate issues at each degree of warming. The scary part is that it states what has already happened in a 1 degree of warming world…” How important is the office for you? “I am an office boy at heart, I come in everyday. The office is so important for face-to-face contact! Covid19 made people feel isolated when WFH, now we have offices back it’s so much easier to have fun little chats and build relationships with colleagues.” Favourite coffee shop near the office? “The Waterstones on Deansgate is hands down the best café in Manchester, it has got really good vibes, great coffee and cake (vegan ones as well!). It is a wholesome place to relax and read, I would recommend having a team day there!”
