Last week our teams around the world proudly celebrated World Earth Day. Our CEO Pete Raby commented on the work of our people; "Our teams across the world have rolled their sleeves up for Earth Day, planting trees, cleaning up community spaces and making lots of small changes to help make the world more sustainable. A big thank you to all our people for their enthusiastic support and their commitment to sustainability." Safety is a top priority at Morgan. Despite the pandemic, we have continued to investigate near misses proactively and generated a safety alert focusing on high-risk activities related to COVID-19.
With 7,500 employees in 30 countries, we communicate in many languages! In order to provide learning opportunities across our employee population, access to local language training is critical. That's why our Thermal team are currently trialing a new online training platform which combines training articles, exercises and even virtual classrooms in multiple languages. We're excited to participate in this development in our virtual learning, and to continue our investment in our people.
This Earth Day, our global teams are focused on raising awareness of our sustainability priorities across our sites. With stretching environmental goals, we're excited to see the fantastic activities our teams are participating in today, which links to our purpose of creating a more sustainable world.
