We love sharing stories about our people, particularly when they invite us to visit them in China! Meet our HR Manager Twinkle. Twinkle has been in the Morgan family since 2011 and is currently a member of our Thermal Ceramics team, based in Shanghai, China. Twinkle says "I am very happy to be part of Morgan HR team and all my colleagues are very professional and nice. I like to communicate with people and it is always a pleasure to greet a friend from afar". Twinkle is shown in the middle of the photograph with other members of our wider Morgan family.
Did you know that semiconductors are a key component in solar panels? Ultimately, semiconductors enable the generation of clean energy from the sun. Key takeaways: π Silicon is one of the most abundant materials in the world and is used extensively as a semiconductor material in solar cells. π Solar photovoltaic (PV) cells are made from semiconductor materials that have higher conductivity than insulators. π Semiconductors in PV cells absorb the lightβs energy when they are exposed to it and transfer the energy to electrons. Check out this 5 minute read to learn more about how semiconductors are used in the solar industry.
Semiconductor solutions: π Silicon carbide in electric vehicles Silicon carbide is a key material in the manufacturing of electric vehicles, providing superior performance in power devices. Find out some of the key benefits of silicon carbide π.
We're pleased to report that our Erlangen team source eco-friendly paper packaging that gets our ceramics safely around the globe. The team started a sustainability project to exchange the plastic packaging material for more eco-friendly options, identifying solution that provides the same value, but completely uses paper. The site dispatch team were involved and actively participated in the testing and sourcing of new materials, to identify a sustainable choice. This is a fantastic site achievement and will directly help to reduce greenhouse gasses and save energy.
π‘ Focus on: Semiconductors Morgan's materials are used throughout the semiconductor manufacturing process. This process grows more demanding as chip density increases, requiring more reliable components in the process.
Morgan offer a variety of learning tools to help our people to progress in different ways. Regional Sales Manager, Pavel, commented on his experience with our online skills learning platform 'Percipio'. Pavel believes that Percipio has contributed to his lifelong learning and helped him to improve skills in his native language too!
We love to talk about our people, especially their loyalty and commitment to our Morgan family. At our Berkatal Germany the team recently celebrated the long service of fifteen people in our Morgan family, celebrating either 25 or 40 years of service each. In order to honour the four '40 years' and eleven '25 years' employees, the Works Council invited them to a celebratory dinner and used the opportunity to present them with long-service certificates to thank them. Thank you to all of the long-service people in our Morgan family for their dedication!
At Morgan we're committed to using water effectively in our production processes and across our sites.
