At Morgan we are seeking ways to make the world more sustainable. The fight against climate change is one we all face. For Morgan, part of this fight will see us significantly reduce the emission of greenhouses within our business by 2030. Across our business we work towards achieving a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions (scope 1 & 2). The work to achieve this goal has already begun, learn more on how we will achieve our ambitious aspirations.
By 2050¹, we have set the target of becoming a CO² net-zero business. In order to achieve this ambitious goal, we have a clear plan of the actions we will take to get there, including reducing our scope 1&2 emissions by 50%, by 2030. In support of our purpose we are backing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The Goals aim to overcome global challenges such as inequality and climate change. We have identified nine Goals that directly relate to Morgan’s purpose and ambition of creating a more sustainable world. By working towards the positive outcomes the Goals encourage, we will protect the environment & promote sustainability, address water use & climate change, and create safe, fair and inclusive workplaces. Paige has recently been announced as a member of the United Way of the CSRA’s board; joining a team who aspire to have the highest performing board in the non-profit sector and who work collaboratively to provide strong leadership and governance to the organisation. Developing the leadership skills of our people is critical to our future success and we’re delighted to announce that last month we launched our 2021 Catalyst & Ignite Development programmes! Starting with virtual introductions involving all of our cohort, their line managers and the supporting team who make our programmes possible, the participants are prepped and ready to develop their leadership skills this year. To begin their 14 months of accelerated development they will be learning how to best role model our leadership behaviours, to engage and inspire their teams and how to cultivate a learning mind-set for their own development progress. We'll be sharing updates on their progress as they work through the programme.
This year we couldn't celebrate Chinese New Year on our sites in the traditional way, so our Shanghai team gifted a new year food package to their teams; to enable them to celebrate safely at home. Packed full of classic cooked meats for our employees to share with their loved ones, we hope the teams had a wonderful time celebrating.
