Our Q3 Trading Statement for 2023 has landed! Here are the headlines: Full price sales in the third quarter (August - October) were up +4% on last year. £23m ahead of our guidance which was to be up +2%. As set out in our Half Year Results in September, the acquisition of an additional equity stake in Reiss this year will result in an exceptional accounting gain (non-cash) of around £110m. We are increasing our full year guidance for Group profit before tax by £10m to £885m.

📣 NEXT acquires FatFace for a total equity value of £115.2m 📣 The Consideration will be settled partly in cash and partly by the issue of new NEXT shares and management equity rolling over into the new structure. Upon completion of this transaction, which is expected to take place within the next few weeks, NEXT will hold 97% of the equity and FatFace’s management will hold 3% of the business. Today’s announcement follows a period of strong trading for FatFace under the leadership of its CEO Will Crumbie. Will Crumbie, who joined FatFace as CFO in 2014 and became CEO in 2021, will continue to lead the business.

Our Results for the Half Year Ending July 2023 have landed! Here are the headlines: 💸 Brand full price sales are up +3.2% versus last year 💷 NEXT Profit before tax £420m, up +4.8% 🛍 Total Group sales up +5.4% Revised Guidance for the Full Year to January 2024: 📊 Brand full price sales growth increased from +1.8% to +2.6%. 💰 NEXT Profit before tax guidance increased from £845m to £875m, up +0.5% on last year. 📈 Earnings Per Share (EPS) before tax, is forecast to be 723.9p, up +3.2%. After accounting for the increase in Corporation Tax, EPS after tax is forecast to be 552.9p, down -3.6%.
