Our Q2 Trading Statement for 2023 has landed! Here are the headlines: 💸 Full price sales in the second quarter (May-July) were up +6.9% on last year. 💷 On 19 June we issued an unscheduled Trading Statement after a period of much better than expected full price sales, mainly driven by exceptionally warm weather. Since then, full price sales have been up +3.7% on last year. This was ahead of our guidance of +0.5%. 🛍 The end-of-season Sale has gone well and clearance rates were ahead of our expectations. 📊 We are increasing our full year guidance for Group profit before tax by £10m to £845m.

We are thrilled to announce that NEXT has partnered with Anthony Nolan, the charity that makes lifesaving connections between people with blood cancer and incredible strangers. The charity will work very closely 🤝 with Unity at NEXT to help raise awareness of, and diversify the Anthony Nolan stem cell donor register. It’s particularly important that people from minority ethnic backgrounds join the stem cell register. Having a wide range of ethnicities on the charity’s stem cell register is vital to ensure everyone has the best chance of surviving blood cancer and blood disorders 🙏 . This partnership aims to support and contribute to their vital work and raise awareness of the impact of blood cancer and disorders on individuals and their families.

Here are the headlines: 💸 Full price sales were down -0.7% versus last year, moderately ahead of our guidance for this period, which was to be down -2%. 💷 We are maintaining our profit and sales guidance for the full year, with profit before tax forecast to be £795m. 🛍 Total Trading sales, including markdown and Clearance sales, were up +1.2% versus last year. 📊 Our guidance for full price sales and profit before tax remains unchanged from that given in our Year End Results in March.
