Applications are open for the #10000BlackInterns 2023 programme! We're pleased to support this initiative, creating opportunities for young Black professionals and increasing representation in Ofcom. 🎉 Last year, we committed to hiring eight interns for the summer, but there was so much great talent out there that we took on 13! Here's what a couple of our interns said about their experience with Ofcom: ⭐ Tasia-Jade said: "One thing I have taken away from Ofcom is the individual responsibility and trust vested into each member employee regardless of department." ⭐ Portia said: "Ofcom has a unique energy, which stems from everyone's desire to make a difference. I am grateful to my line manager, Nicola, for organizing the best teaching and learning experience for me. Ofcom is a force to be reckoned with." An inspiring, moving and candid discussion about LGBTQ+ representation and allyship on-screen and behind the scenes at our #LGBTHM22 event yesterday. 🏳️🌈 Expertly chaired by Ofcom's Vikki Cook, our stellar panel Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, Shivani Dave, Bethany Black and Russell T Davies shared their experiences and views on the issues facing #LGBTQ+ people in TV and radio with 350 virtual and in-person attendees. Thanks to all those who organised, joined and contributed to such an important and thought-provoking conversation.
