PeoplePlus has been shortlisted for the Award for Excellence in Building Purpose-Driven Impact at the Investors in People Awards 2025. The recognition highlights our purpose – to change lives today and change society tomorrow – and the way we put this into practice through initiatives such as the Social Recruitment Covenant, the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group and the Social Recruitment Framework. Judges praised the boldness of our approach in creating a national movement for inclusive recruitment, our measurable results including thousands of people supported into sustainable jobs, and the scale of collaboration we enable with more than 500 employers across every sector of the economy. Speaking about the shortlisting, CEO Kenny Boyle said: “This is a fantastic endorsement of our vision for a society where every individual can reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. To be recognised again by Investors in People for the impact we are making – from supporting people into sustainable jobs, to helping employers embed inclusive recruitment as standard practice – is something we are immensely proud of. It reflects the extraordinary work of our colleagues and partners who live our purpose every day and ensure we are changing lives today and changing society tomorrow.” Good luck to all the finalists! The winners will be announced at the Investors in People Awards ceremony on 12th November.
On 6th November at Westminster’s Portcullis House, we officially launched the Social Recruitment Covenant with a landmark event attended by over 150 employers, government ministers, and members of Parliament from across the political spectrum, to support a commitment to hire people who often face barriers to employment. Among the first 100 organisations to sign this pledge were major employers like Lidl, Amey, and Openreach, along with Currys, IKEA and Timpson, all committing to recruit from a broader pool of candidates, including those who may not have traditional work experience or qualifications. The Covenant, supported by the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group (SRAG) and convened by PeoplePlus, is a pledge to adopt inclusive recruitment and employment practices to help people overcome the barriers to employment endemic in traditional recruitment practices and is designed to increase workplace diversity and tackle economic inactivity across the UK

On 30th June 2023 our colleagues and learners joined with providers across the UK to celebrate Employability Day. This year's theme is #WorkingForBetterWork and provides an opportunity to celebrate supporting people from disadvantaged communities to enter or progress in employment. Our teams held various events to mark the occasion including the Restart team in East Wales, walking 6000 steps in the typical Welsh weather to represent that every step counts when you’re on a journey to employment. Other Welsh colleagues invited employers to speak with learners about opportunities available and sharing experiences from learners old and new. Our Scotland team commemorated their recent milestone of five incredible years of delivering Fair Start Scotland, plus the contract extension. Teams across England reflected on and celebrated the difference we make in people’s lives every single day with parties and jobs fairs taking place around the country.
In 2022 we achieved our mission to impact 1 million lives. For 2023, we have launched a new purpose, vision and mission that enables us to lead the way in creating social value. Our Purpose – the WHY - We change lives. One individual at a time. And in the same way, we’re going to change society. Our Vision – the WHAT - Our vision is for a society where every individual is able to reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our Mission – the HOW - Our mission is to lead the way in making this future a reality: working directly and indirectly for those who need support and with those who can support, to ensure that every organisation in our society strives to increase the value it brings to that society, to our communities and to the lives of the individuals in them.
In 2018 we set a mission to make a difference to the lives of 1 million people by 2022 - and in December we reached our milestone! It is an extraordinary achievement – to which every single colleague at PeoplePlus has contributed. But our mission has never been about one MILLION, it has always been about a million ONEs. Because that’s how we make a difference to a million lives…one at a time! And that ambition – to help the next person in need of our support and our expertise and our passion – will NEVER change!
PeoplePlus is delighted to announce that we have recently achieved an Investors in People Silver accreditation. Investors in People are an independent workplace engagement specialist. They work with organisations to measure, improve and recognise workplace engagement. To achieve the accreditation, all of colleagues were invited to share feedback to the Investors in People auditor that explored leading and inspiring people, values and behaviours, managing performance, reward and recognition, development and continuous improvement. Our silver accreditation, which only 15% of companies achieve; means that the right principles are in place but more than that, it means people and leaders are making active efforts to make sure that there’s real consistency and everyone in the organisation are feeling the effects
