“Leadership told us to absolutely go for it, that virtually no resource is unobtainable. It is this startup culture of a small biotech company and global resources available that makes Pfizer unique." - Gene Therapy Senior Scientist, William Kish.

Wishing all our Pfizer colleagues based in Ireland and overseas a Happy St. Patrick's Day. 💚 Since 1969 we have invested in Pfizer Ireland and it has become a leading manufacturing base for Pfizer exporting to global markets. We are proud of our progress and will continue to be one of Ireland's leading employers.
We spoke with Jen Long, Global Head of Clinical Operations for the Pfizer Clinical Research Units who helps to progress the safe use of new medicines for various types of diseases. "I work on many exciting projects at Pfizer so it is hard to pick just one to tell you about but probably what has been the most rewarding as of late has been the contribution to a COVID-19 anti-viral study that we conducted in November. Knowing that I was able to directly contribute to the safety assessment of a high priority medication in the midst of a global pandemic brought its relevance to a whole other level of importance. My colleagues and I were extremely excited to be apart of this and felt an extraordinary sense of purpose in its successful execution. I couldn’t have been more proud to have been apart of it."
A powerful message from Melissa, a Vaccine Research Scientist at Pfizer. "2020 was a year overshadowed by the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) pandemic. Early mornings into the lab, leaving long after scheduled work hours, and even coming in on weekends. It never occurred to me that my position in Vaccines Research would amount to having a global impact; nor did I realize how important it is for the world to know that a face like mine worked tirelessly to release a preventative treatment to help heal the world. This year my hard work was rewarded with a promotion to “Scientist”. The weight this carries is beyond my wildest dreams. I often get the “You work at Pfizer? You worked on the vaccine?” Followed by a look of utter shock and disbelief. Black women in science do exist, and I hope to inspire many more to follow this path because representation matters."
We heard from Bert Bruce, Regional President Rare Disease and the head of Pfizer's Global Black Community Colleague Resource Group, about Equity at Pfizer and its importance. Continue to fuel competitive advantage 👇
