Last week, we won the Economic Sustainability Award at the Footprint Awards 2025 for our work in reducing the carbon footprint of food at our Soul + Grain brand! The award specifically recognises sustainability initiatives that deliver commercially – our lower impact menu has been a hit for its quality and taste, which has driven an increase in sales. This was made possible through our partnership with Klimato to calculate and communicate the carbon footprint of our products. By integrating these insights into our recipe development process, we were able to develop delicious dishes using lower impact ingredients. We also added carbon labels to the 48% of the range that is ‘low carbon’ according to Klimato’s scale, enabling customers to make more informed choices. Meredith Ford, Head of Sustainability at SSP UK&I, said: “We’re delighted that our efforts to reduce food-related emissions by adapting our recipes and menus are delivering that all-important ‘triple win’ for planet, profit, and our customers, who are responding positively to the changes. Sustainability remains a core strategic priority for us as we embed it into ‘business as usual’, and we’re proud to be leading the way in the F&B industry in partnership with Klimato.”
We're pleased to announce a new partnership with Southampton International Airport Limited and will transform the airport’s food and beverage offer as its main F&B partner. Having immediately assumed operation of the existing landside and airside bars, over the next 12 months we will improve passenger experiences by introducing two modernised bar kitchen concepts alongside a new Starbucks to give passengers better quality, value and variety of food and drink options.
