We held the Iberdrola International Volunteer Awards 2024 at ScottishPower HQ. These awards were a chance to celebrate the volunteering activities of employees from across the group. The event was hosted by BBC presenter Sally Magnusson and attended by the Chairman of Iberdrola, Ignacio Galán, the Lord Provost of Glasgow, Jacqueline McLaren, Simon Ledsham, Fundraising Director, Cancer Research UK and Aileen Campbell, CEO Scottish Women’s Football. ScottishPower’s Pola Michalska scooped the Health and Wellbeing Award for her efforts to support the fight against cancer, a cause very close to her heart due to personal experiences with the disease. She recently shaved her head to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs for children and young people. After presenting the awards, Ignacio Galán said that these volunteers have made it clear, through their selfless work, that positive social impact is an essential element of the company’s corporate identity. He said: “You exemplify the spirit that is at the heart of Iberdrola’s culture. Your dedication and hard work are a testament to the transformative power of volunteering. It is a force that can change lives, uplift communities, and create a ripple effect of positive change.”
