Skyscanner is frequently hailed for helping its team members have a great work-life balance - and a great work-life balance means…real time for life-enriching hobbies! Today we’re highlighting the fantastic photography of Ilya Ilford, who has been busy creating a series of portraits of the people of Leith Walk in Edinburgh. Ilya forces himself to be selective and incisive with his subjects by taking his photos with a Rolleiflex camera (which means he's restricted to 12 shots per roll of film). You can view some of his (really rather moving) images, and read about his project in more detail by checking out this recent BBC feature on Ilya and his work 📷 👇
PhocusWire has just launched ‘How I Got Here’ - a fantastic new podcast dedicated to getting the inside stories on the most innovative travel and transportation companies – and the man in the hot-seat for the very first episode is Skyscanner co-founder, former CEO and current chairperson, Gareth Williams! If you like open, honest, and insightful business chat, then you will definitely want to add Gareth’s interview - and How I Got Here - to your must-listen-list 🎙
"Focus on what you enjoy and have a passion for it. I remember reading Good to Great by Jim Collins, and this is the advice he gives. It is advice that I continue to follow and live by. Also, do not try to plan out your entire career. Learn from experiences, improve your skill set and opportunities will come your way." Wise words from Hugh Aitken, Skyscanner's Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, in this revealing Econsultancy interview...

In his new piece for our engineering blog, Skyscanner’s Ashley Sole discusses our approach to cloud migration – and reveals the hard-won lessons we learnt along the way
