6th out of 100. We’re very pleased with that! The FTSE Women Leaders Review, an independent review of female representation across all FTSE companies have put us 6th highest in the FTSE100 category (up from 12th last year) and 1st (up from 3rd) in the Insurance providers category. Workplace inclusivity is paramount if we’re to close the difference between what men and women save for retirement – what is known as the gender pension gap. And it’s important for us as we strive to be the best place anyone has ever worked. #InternationalWomensDay
We're delighted to share that Phoenix Group has been recognised as one of the Financial Times UK's Best Employers 2025, ranking 45th overall. We've secured a top 5 spot in the insurance category - a fantastic achievement that reflects our commitment to creating a supportive, rewarding, and inspiring workplace. The Financial Times, in partnership with data provider Statista, has published the UK's Best Employers ranking for the first time in 2025. This list of 500 companies is based on an independent survey of around 20,000 employees, who shared their opinions on key aspects of their workplace, including working conditions, salary, opportunities for development, and company image. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our incredible team, whose passion and hard work drive our success every day. We're opening doors to more diverse talent by embracing inclusive recruitment practices as part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. In 2023, we signed up to Business in the Community's Opening Doors campaign, which provides a framework to help organisations enhance their recruitment processes. Although we had already implemented many of the campaign's actions, it identified areas for improvement and we have since committed to further initiatives to attract diverse talent. Some key initiatives include: ✅ Providing bespoke training on inclusive recruitment across seven inclusivity lenses ✅ Engaging suppliers and recruitment agencies to adhere to inclusive practices ✅ Streamlining the application process, resulting in a tripled completion rate Discover more about how we're making a difference: https://www.bitc.org.uk/openingdoors
Our business is built around colleagues who want to make a difference. This #MenopauseAwarenessMonth we’re celebrating Mandy Reid who leads our wellbeing community. She has been instrumental in developing how we support our colleagues, in particular around menopause and mental health. Last month Mandy and the business were recognised by becoming finalists in the Best Individual Contribution and Peer to Peer categories at the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards. The latter celebrating organisations that have created the best approaches to enabling peer to peer support. Well done Mandy and thanks for all your efforts in helping our colleagues stay in work so they can continue to save for their future.
A massive well done to the team for picking up ‘Best flexible working initiative’ at the CIPD People Management Awards in London last week. According to research from CIPD, almost 2 million people have left a job in the previous year due to a lack of flexible working. And we think flexible working is crucial to helping people stay in work and prepare for the retirement they want. So that’s why our colleagues designed Phoenix Flex, to give our workforce choice and control over how they work. You can find out more about Phoenix Flex here: www.thephoenixgroup.com/careers/flexible-working
Pride is important, but it’s just one month of the year. What about the rest of the year? We believe as a society we need to have an environment of acceptance that supports everyone to be their true selves. Our LGBTQ+ network of colleagues ensure that their community is included and has a voice within the business. Why does this matter? We believe that a diverse work force brings different experiences, viewpoints and opinions, helping to build a stronger business together, to help people stay in work for as long as they want, or need to. #PrideMonth #Diversity #Inclusion
We thought Carers Week would be a good time to talk about our new company-wide initiative! ‘Caring for Carers’ launches with a brand new partnership with Carers UK. Through the initiative we aim to help millions of people who work and care for someone to better balance some of the challenges they might face, be they personal, financial, professional or emotional. We believe keeping unpaid carers in the workforce is important so they can properly prepare for their future. Our colleagues will be volunteering and fundraising to help various UK charities that focus on caring. We can’t wait to share some of their stories with you!
We love celebrating our amazing colleagues, who are the heart of our community efforts this Volunteers Week. Every year we award our colleagues 3 volunteering days to take, where they’re encouraged to use their skills and time to support the communities our customers live. This week a team went to a care home in Solihull, where they were seen freshening up the gardens and enjoying some fun activities with the residents! #LifeAtPhoenix
