Yesterday evening we won an award at the Women in Finance Summit & Awards for The Outstanding Diversity Network of the Year! This year's winner focused on embedding mental health initiatives in the workplace, and more importantly, into leadership culture. A great result, team!
A superb evening at the MoneyAge awards. Very proud to have won both the #Diversity and Ethical Financial Services Provider of the Year awards. The Diversity award recognised our successful strides forward in the diversity of our recruitment and talent progression across the organisation. The Ethical Financial Services Provider of the Year celebrated our work across 3 key areas: 1️⃣ Our own #NetZero target as a business, in our buildings and our supply chain. 2️⃣ Our work to use our corporate investment power for good. 3️⃣ Our work across our pension funds to enable our clients to use their savings to help solve the climate crisis. Also a big congratulations to Standard Life UK who picked up Pension Provider of the Year. Way to go, team!
We're excited to reveal that our consumer brand, Standard Life UK, will be the new headline sponsor for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Race for Life starting in 2023! We care about people’s futures, and through this sponsorship, we will help our local communities, colleagues and customers join the movement to help beat cancer sooner.
Following #WorldSuicidePreventionDay, our colleague-run mental health network Mind Matters, hosted a Q&A with Katie Piper and their Executive sponsor, Quentin Zentner. Katie is a best-selling international author, inspirational speaker, TV presenter and charity campaigner, and has done so much to support the wider communities and society around her. We’re so proud to support incredible conversations like this, helping to make Phoenix the best place our colleagues have ever worked. Let’s keep talking about #MentalHealth 👏
We've made two key appointments to our Executive Committee. Brid Meaney is promoted to Heritage CEO, following the news that Andy Moss, Life Companies CEO and Heritage Group Director, is to retire after 18 years at the company. We've also created a new role of Chief Transformation Officer where Jackie Noakes will lead and enhance our change capability, driving and overseeing the Group’s change projects. These two appointments increase the female ratio on our Executive Committee to more than 42%.
We are delighted to have now confirmed level 2 accreditation in the Disability Confident Scheme. We have successfully completed the Disability Confident self-assessment and demonstrated that we are taking all of the core actions required. This includes taking action to ensure we adopt policies and practices across both recruitment and the ongoing development of our people that align to the Disability Confident scheme.
