With thousands of people looking for a new job at the beginning of the year, Glassdoor’s ‘25 Best Jobs in the UK 2017’, announced today, couldn’t have come at a better time.
This list is different from others out there because it identifies the best jobs to havethis year, based on the number of job listings open, paired with employee insights on earning potential, and what people really think of their jobs. This is not a list of quirky job titles or highest paid jobs that job seekers have little chance of getting. This report balances jobs that are sought after, well-paid and have good career prospects.
Finance Manager (#1), Tax Manager (#2) and Design Manager (#3) stand out as top three jobs in the UK for 2017. But which other jobs made the cut?
This report highlights the 25 best jobs based on each job’s overall Glassdoor Job Score*. The Glassdoor Job Score is determined using three key factors – earning potential based on median annual base salary, job satisfaction ratings and number of job openings.

Methodology:
Glassdoor’s 25 Best Jobs in UK 2017 report identifies specific jobs with the highest overall Glassdoor Job Score. The Glassdoor Job Score is determined by weighing three factors equally: earning potential (median annual base salary), overall job satisfaction rating, and number of job openings. Results represent job titles that rate highly among all three categories. The Glassdoor Job Score is based on a 5-point scale (5.0=best job, 1.0=bad job). For a job title to be considered, it must receive at least 30 salary reports and at least 30 job satisfaction ratings shared by UK-based employees over the past year (02/01/16-01/01/17). The number of job openings per job title represents active job listings on Glassdoor as of 01/01/17. This report takes into account job title normalisation that groups similar job titles.
