Hola España! Glassdoor continues to expand globally as it enters Spain, marking the platform’s localised presence in 19 markets. Since Glassdoor’s debut in 2008, people throughout the world have been drawn to Glassdoor to make more informed job and career decisions. Glassdoor holds millions of the latest job listings combined with 67 million reviews and insights for 900,000 companies across 190 countries.
Now, the power of the latest job listings and company reviews has come to Spain. A new localised desktop and mobile site will provide a better user experience, including more relevant jobs, reviews and other job and company insights.
“Glassdoor has always appealed to a wide global audience and with increased focus on Spain, we are looking to make the Glassdoor experience for people and businesses in Spain even more valuable,” said John Lamphiere, Vice President and Managing Director of Glassdoor EMEA.
Spain is the 5th largest economy in the EU with a large number of both multinational and national employers and a labour force of 23 million people. We already have a strong presence in the market, and as traffic grows, the appetite for our jobs, reviews and insights grows too.
Popular U.S. companies like HP Inc., Airbnb, Amazon are hiring throughout Spain, alongside top Spanish employers like Indra, Telefónica, everis, BBVA, Santander and Amadeus.
Lamphiere adds: “We believe that by pairing together useful insights into a company’s work environment, pay practises and other important facets of employment with the latest jobs, we can make the job search and recruiting process better. When job seekers are more informed about a job and company, we know it leads to a better match with the employer.”
As part of its launch into Spain, Glassdoor conducted online research among more than 850 employees and job seekers in the market. The Harris Poll survey of 850 Spanish job seekers revealed:
- 85% of Spanish job seekers and employees say job realities tend to differ from expectations set during the interview process
- 86% of Spanish employees report they wish they had a better understanding of what fair pay is for their position and skill set both at their company and in their local job market
- 81% of job seekers and employees in Spain report they would find reading employee reviews helpful when deciding where to work
