Job Title: Audio Typist

Location: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Urology

Hours: 37.5 hours Monday- Friday

Trust Location: Nottingham University NHS Trust, City Hospital Campus, Hucknall Road, Nottingham, NG5 1PB

What you’ll be responsible for:

1. Accurately transcribing from Big Hand digital dictation and Big Hand Speech Recognition digital dictation, outpatient clinic letters and miscellaneous clinical correspondence to a high standard with specified timescales.

2. Proofread to a very high standard, speech recognition digital dictation, ensuring accurate use of grammar and spelling.

3. Responsible for the production of discharge summaries, clinical papers and material for publication from either audio or copy typing.

4. Use judgement and initiative to prioritise the importance/urgency of particular requests within defined guidelines.

5. Undertake daily peer audit of clinical correspondence to ensure a high standard of accuracy and quality of work.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel.

· Communications skills- both verbal and written.

· Essential to have knowledge of Big Hand and Medical office.

· Excellent typing skills.

· Previous Audio Typing experience.

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
