Job Title: Bereavement Administrator
Location: John Radcliffe Hospital, OX3 9DU
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm / 8.30am - 4.30pm / 9am – 5pm

Role type: Temporary for 3 months with possibility of extension
Job Purpose:
Support the Bereavement Services Manager in providing a high quality administrative service to support the bereavement service on behalf of the Trust. Carry out all necessary administrative tasks.
Duties to include but not limited to:
· Provide admin support to the Bereavement Services Manager and the Bereavement team
· Ensure that all new cases are entered on the Trusts Safeguard Bereavement database and case number allocated.
· Daily check with the mortuary to ensure that all deaths are captured in a timely way.
· Assist the bereavement officer in contacting the relevant doctors and request attendance to complete statutory paperwork.
· Handle and disseminate information received from other staff calling into the office.
· Handle all incoming calls from external and internal services and record any updates given onto the Safeguard Bereavement Services database
· To ensure that there are sufficient packs of information ready to be given to families of the bereaved
· Any other general duties that will assist the bereavement team in their delivery of supporting the bereaved families.
· Ensure that GP surgeries are emailed and advised of patient’s death – making sure that the information is entered onto the Trust Safeguard Bereavement database
· Photocopying documentation for use in the bereavement office
This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
