Job Title: Waiting List Administrator

Location: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust- HPB (Hepatobiliary Pancreatic)

Hours: 25 hours Monday - Friday flexible within 9:00 - 17:00

Trust Location: Nottingham City Hospital, City Campus, Hucknall Road, Nottingham, NG5 1PB

What you’ll be responsible for:

1. Responsible for adding/removing patients to the NUH waiting list and co-ordinating/booking their admission to hospital, using hospital IT systems e.g. Nervecentre

2. Ensure patients are added to correct waiting lists using hospital standard operating procedures, Nervecentre

3. Working to agreed protocols to negotiate patient admissions for inpatient and day surgery procedures and minor procedure treatments.

4. Provide appropriate confirmation letter of TCI to patient, along with any relevant supporting information.

5. Ensure all relevant patient information is recorded on the Trust’s IT systems and updated accordingly in line with Trust Access Policy and Procedures.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

Skills:

· Microsoft office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel.

· Ability to use own initiative and attention to detail.

· Experience working as a waiting list administrator and great organization skills.

· Experience using hospital IT systems such as Nervecentre and Big hand would be an advantage.

· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
