What is health insurance like at Computacenter?

Pros

Nothing pro to list here. Computacenter is a terrible company that runs a business like a sweatshop operation and treats their employees poorly.

Cons

If you are an IT professional, with great technical skills that loves going above and beyond for your customers stay away from this company because they treat their top employees very poorly. If you are friends with the manager, that's another story. You can come in whenever you want or not come in at al.l You get to chill in the tech room all day and watch movies, youtube videos and or facetime with your friends while the ticket queues are all backed up and customers desperately need help. Unlimited nap time in the conference rooms or the cafeteria and if you are hungry just help yourself to lunch and never pay for it. ComputaCenter is one of the worst companies I have ever worked for as an IT Professional. Their payrates are not up to todays standard IT rates, health insurance is overpriced and they force you to use your vacation time when the customer has their Christmas Shutdown. They hire kids, that have no qualifications or knowledge about anything IT related to solve critical technical issues in a scientific environment that could cost the customer a lot of money if handled wrong. I worked late many times because of all the slackers and kids this company hires without properly getting compensated and/or never got a thank you. Yet when I said something to management all I get is grief. Hopefully the customer will wake up sooner then later and go with another vendor.

Advice to Management

You should listen to your Senior IT more often instead of hiring people that do not want to work, sleep or watch movies all day. Or better you should just quit your job and sell cars since you do a terrible job at what you do.

Does Computacenter assist with or provide work transportation?

Pros

Expenses paid, company car, travel (if you like that sort of thing).

Cons

The reviews prior to this one continuously mention senior managers being "gossipy" and political - they are telling the truth. If you are not a suck up, this place is not for you. If you have an interview coming up for computacenter and would class yourself as a fair minded professional who just wants to make some good money and establish a career- RUN. Otherwise - you MUST be prepared to crush your colleagues, leave your self respect at the door and most importantly - make sure you're a favourite. I have zero respect for computacenter which is why I am leaving. I am more than happy to put in extra hours to hit them deadlines, stay away from home for weeks and empower my colleagues - but for some reason the other guy who has no idea what he's doing is an example I should follow? Oh that's right because hes your favourite. Area managers you should be extremely ashamed of yourself - the corruption is unbelievable. Seriously I don't know how they sleep at night knowing they sack people because "they just felt like it" - exact words. Completely disgusted.

Advice to Management

You cannot be helped. This review is only to warn people - especially those who have to support a family - don't do it to yourself. You can do better.
