What is the hiring process like at Ipsos?

      Ipsos reviews

Probation is harmful to the mental wellbeing of New Staff.

      Market research telephone interviewer
      Current freelancer
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Choose your own hours, but even retail contracts like this have a better probation standard.

      Cons

Advice to anyone in Probation: Don't take it seriously, they are using you because they got a new project and need a bump in callers. Look for a new job if you need longterm employment. So this year they introduced a 'Strike Rate' policy, I got the job through a friend who did not have to go through this during probation and at no point in the interview process did they mention this is what you passing your probation is based on. You are trained by supervisors who also did not get graded on this standard during their probation so they downplay how intense it is leaving you unprepared. It is purely a numbers game. The strike rate is simply how many people want to complete a survey and YOU are penalised BASED ON LUCK. You are given 'Update Emails' that describe exactly how you're failing after every shift and they have the nerve to send you a 'well-being survey' to see how you're doing after being hung up on, insulted, mocked and rejected for 4 hours. AND ON TOP OF THAT they have the audacity to pay you minimum wage for 3 weeks during the probation.

      Pros

The hiring process is smooth and the internship would really make you ready for the job.

      Cons

No cons as such with company

Horrible experience ! Do not waste your time here.

      Senior software engineer
      Current employee

      Pros

The interviewer and the hiring manager were good.

      Cons

The complete interview process took almost 2 months just for having 3 technical/coding rounds + 1 HR round. After all these rounds, the HR sent me the Offer of Intent as discussed and then ghosted me completely soon after this. Even after following up with the HR many times, he simply started giving excused that some internal meeting are going on and some top managers are coming for company review and he will get back with before the joining date. After 1-2 months, the HR stopped taking up the calls and has not even apologized for this unprofessional behavior and at last simply told to look for other opportunities. Worst experience for any candidate ever. Please do not even waste time giving interviews for this company or interacting with their HR's. It's total waste of time.

      Senior research executive
      Current employee

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Flexibility of work and some generally friendly faces to see.

      Cons

The lowest pay in the market Bias within management and they deliberately set you up to find reasons to not progress you, especially where you are perceived as non-conforming or not paying lip-service or praising management. They have the worst rating and feedback process that is easily abused by managers and directors who just don't like you. Many staff are stuck there just because they like the flexibility and have families. The young ones are more ambitious, so they play the game, get promoted and take the experience elsewhere. It is a sad situation as the company has a good reputation but the clients don't know how those who actually do the work (the junior execs who are often doing director level work, are suffering under strain and burn out). If you love your health and mental state, please look elsewhere.

      Pros

My team particularly, has a very close bond together.

      Cons

Heavy workload, management did not further hire for new people tho people are resigning. Each project managers have to take up more than 5 projects and working late nights or even weekends is a common thing. Not eating your lunch is a common thing.

      Cons

      1. Seasonal shortages of work demand (you can't pick up work slots and sometimes work less than 10 hours per week) 2. Bad management with excessive recruitment of interviewers to create an excessive worker supply 3. Lack of career progression opportunities
