What is the hiring process like at NatWest Group?

      Incredible Career Prospects

      Junior web developer

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The company actively seeks out diverse talent and creates an inclusive hiring process, promoting a fair and balanced workforce

      Cons

If you’re just starting your career, you won’t find a better place to begin

Toxic culture with favoritism and constant restructuring

      Pros

Work life balance Average Leave and Medical policies

      Cons

I have over 8 years of experience in IT and have worked across the healthcare and telecom sectors. I joined NatWest Group 18 months ago, and since then, nothing has gone well. Due to constant restructuring, they completely dissolved our SRE Team and moved us elsewhere. Despite their promises that there would be no layoffs, they forced us into an "empowered product team model"—claiming it mimics Amazon—but in reality, they just split the team apart and placed members into domains that have absolutely nothing to do with their technical skill sets. When I was moved, I was promised a role that matched my expertise. Instead, four months later, I was told my role had been "impacted" and that my last day would be the end of the month. I have now been placed in a talent pool with only three months to find an internal position. 😡 The internal recruitment process is a total sham. It feels like "fake recruitment" where managers simply hire their friends and family. There is a massive bias toward North Indian managers; it feels less like the NATWEST GROUP and more like a NORTH INDIAN GROUP. There is zero representation or respect for those from South India. These managers engage in cheap office politics and make constant fake promises. The environment is rife with favoritism, where employees who provide "gifts" or other favors to managers are the only ones who get ahead. Furthermore, the partiality between UK and India employees is blatant and insulting. 🤮 This is, without a doubt, the worst company I have ever worked for. 🚫😤👎

      FTC (Fixed Term Contract)

      Customer service and operations analyst
      Former employee
      Gurgaon, Haryana
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      Work Life balance is good.

      Cons

I would not recommend working for this company who are getting hired on (FTC) if you're looking for job stability and growth. Despite completing the probation period, I was hired on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) and was never made permanent. Here are my key issues: 1.Lack of Job Security: Even after successfully completing the probation period, they continued to keep me on a fixed-term contract with no intention of making me a permanent employee. 2.No Salary Increment: As an FTC employee, there were no salary increments, which is extremely discouraging and doesn't reflect the hard work and dedication put into the job. 3.Unstable Work Assignments: After the probation period, they assigned me to different teams for various projects. Despite contributing significantly to these projects, they still refused to make my position permanent. Once the project was completed, they simply terminated my contract. 4.External Hiring Over Internal Promotion: Instead of offering permanent positions to current FTC employees, the company continuously hires new people from outside. This practice shows a complete disregard for the loyalty and potential of their current employees.
