I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at AMR (New Haven, CT) in Mar 2010
Interview
Jeffrey Boyd performed my interview, he likes people who know what they are doing. He wants to know basic fundamentals of paramedicine, as he is still a practicing paramedic with Middlesex Hospital a couple days a month. You literally have to chase, hunt, harass, and harangue this company to hire you, even if they are posting ads. You should call, be persistent, drop off your application in person, and try and touch base with the HR director at least once a week until they offer you an interview.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at AMR (Tempe, AZ) in Mar 2015
Interview
Short with only a few questions due to the company barely starting in Maricopa County. The interviewer I had was from one of the operations in the Midwest and had no idea about how things were ran in Arizona.

How do you deal with difficult patients and their families?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AMR
Interview
Only required to take a written test followed by one oral interview, quite easy actually. When I promoted to Paramedic from EMT I wasn't required to do any additional testing.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at AMR (Yakima, WA) in Jan 2011
Interview
Have to take a company written test. Somewhat simple if you know you stuff. This is after they receive your application. Interview is group panel, then you have to run a mega-code to prove you know what your doing. If hired you set through 4.5 days of a new hire class. then you have to do your 240 hour ride time with a training officer to get county certified.
