I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ASDA (London, England) in Jan 2016
Interview
I remember coming on this website for tips regarding my own Asda interview, so I thought I should help the next person! I applied online on the 16th of January and I received and invite to an Asda magic assessment 2 days later. I attended the assessment on the Friday 22nd of January, which involved checking our right to work documents (I cannot stress how important it is that you bring original, acceptable documents! No excuses, they will send you home immediately- 2 people were asked to leave!) We also had t fill in a form which asks us to select the departments we would like to work in and the hours we can commit to. We later introduced each other (be relaxed and don't try too hard, just be friendly and human!), then we had to create our own advert for 2 asda brand products and 2 popular-branded products in groups, which is quite fun. I had Heinz soup and Cherry coca cola. We next took a tour of the store, and we had the opportunity to ask the manager any questions. Then we were asked to come up with ideas for Asda's community outreach and present them. We were then told that we will be invited to an interview if we're successful or not in a few days. I was called by admin the following Wednesday (27th) to come for a one-to-one interview. I came on Monday the 1st of February and was given the job!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
We were asked to do group activities such as create an advert, list ideas for activities that ASDA can fund for the local community.
Ok. A lot of questions though and they don’t really seem relevant to the position. Not sure why you get asked when you’ve gone above and beyond to be honest
