      Scrum Master/Assistant Manager Interview

      15 Aug 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chennai
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Accenture (Chennai) in Aug 2014

      Interview

It was a walk-in drive, got a mail 1 day ahead of the interview from their HR. Later found out that all of them got it just the day before. Very poorly organized. There were close to 100 odd people who showed up for it. The same HR team was conducting interview for skills ranging from entry level BPO jobs to Project Leads and Managers for IT division. Lot of java developers and testers were also there. The coordinator had a real attitude about him and the way he spoke was not exactly professional. They themselves had no clue regarding the various positions they were hiring for and called up all present for non-bpo jobs to write a test. The test regarding java. When we who were there for the SM/Manager openings explained that we dont have any java knowledge and its not relevant for our job ,they asked us to skip the test. Then there were 2 rounds of interview with lots of waiting as there were many people. The interviewer were there HR personals with no specific knowledge on the skills sets, guess they were doing basic filter. All throughout the process they kept mentioning that all though its IT job if recruited the offer letter would be from Accenture BPO. It took my whole day there. On the sunday night of the weekend i got an email that i have been selected for the 3rd round and was called to attend the interview on monday night. It was a telephonic interview with someone in the US or aborad and hence the night timings. This time the address mentioned in the e-mail was a different tower than where the 1st two rounds took place. The security at the mentioned tower were absolutely clueless about any interview happening. After much confusion it turns out its happening in the same place as before.(HR professionals who are not sure about their own office address ) Again after some wait i was called for the telephonic interview , which was actually over webex connect in a laptop. The guy at the other end was not a native english speaker (could be mexican) plus the speaker of the laptop were not so great. On the whole we both had some tough time understanding each other. Few questions which i understood and gave a proper answer were appreciated by him saying "great answer". A few questions he just gave up since even after repeatedly asking them I was not able to make out what he is even saying. At the end of it all he signed of saying talk to you later. I had a feeling it didnt really go well and wont be selected. After I came out i was asked to wait and the HR went back in. She came back after a few mins (after talking to this guy from other end). She told me that the interview went really well and I can expect a call from them for next round (final negotiations ) 1 week passed by and i got no communication, so I mailed them inquiring about the status , 1 more week passed after than still no response. Again very unprofessional behavior. I understand you cant reply back informing their non-selection to all the 1000s who apply (even though there are companies which do that) but its just basic courtesy to reply back to individuals with whom you have conducted multiple rounds and a fair bit of 1 on 1 communication going back and forth. On the whole a very bad experience, Accenture Chennai HR & Recruitment needs to improve big time.
