I applied through other source. I interviewed at Acorn Engineering (Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England) in Jan 2026
Interview
Poor candidate experience, lack of accountability at senior level
I interviewed for an Account Director role and completed a second-stage interview that required significant preparation, including developing and presenting detailed slides.
Communication throughout the process was consistently poor. Multiple timelines were promised and missed (including same-day and end-of-week commitments), with no proactive updates. I had to chase repeatedly for basic clarity, even after being assured outcomes would be shared “today”.
At senior level, this reflects a lack of ownership, alignment, and respect for candidates’ time. If this is how decisions are handled during recruitment, it raises serious concerns about internal decision-making and accountability once employed.
Feedback and closure should be a minimum expectation after asking candidates to invest this level of effort. Unfortunately, that standard was not met.

Question 1
How would you approach the role in your first 90–100 days, particularly around client relationships, operational performance, and protecting margin?
