      Sales/Recruiting Trainee Interview

      20 Nov 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Aerotek in Nov 2014

      Interview

Applied online and was contacted by phone within 30 minutes by an internal recruiter. She said there were 2 different positions I could apply for--Sales/Recruiting Trainee or Administrative Assitant. She explained both positions and told me to call her back with a decision. I called back the next day and expressed my interest in the Sales/Recruiting Trainee position. She invited me to a "Career Night" to learn more about the company/position. I attended that and set up a phone interview for the following week with the same internal recruiter. Phone interview was about 20 minutes long and she scheduled a 1-on-1 interview with the Director of Business for the following week. Internal Recruiter was very helpful and gives you the tools you need to do well during 1-on-1 interview. Met with the DOB for over an hour--very much so a conversational interview--they want to get to know you and if you would be a good fit. The next day I got a call to come back for a half day interview/job shadow for the following week. First, I interviewed with 2 account managers to start the day off. They really warn you about how tough of a job it is and literally try to talk you out of it. After that I met with one more account manager which wasn't as intense. I shadowed 2 different individuals--one wasn't too thrilled about the situation. The other individual was great! I received a call the next day and they said I would be a great fit for another position they have open, the administrative assistant, which does not earn commision and is salaried 5k less per year. I really wish they would have provided some feedback on the position I actually interviewed for. I said I wasn't interested in the Administrative Assistant position and haven't heard anything back.

      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at Aerotek (Omaha, NE) in Jan 2019

      Interview

Submitted my application online and didn’t here back for like two and a half months. Once the recruiter finally got back to me I had a quick screening interview with her regarding my background. It seemed to go pretty well and she told me that I’d hear back from her by the end of the week. Low and behold it was past the time she said she’d contacted me so I decided to call back to check on the status of my candidacy. She told me that she didn’t get back to me because apparently the office the she was hiring for all of a sudden went on a hiring freeze. I was pretty annoyed because when I talked to her it sounded as if she was never going to get back to me had I not called. I wasn’t mad about the hiring freeze, but if you’re a recruiter it’s your job to keep candidates in the loop of these types of things especially if it’s a candidate who actually made it to the first or second round of interviews.

      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Aerotek (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

BEYOND unprofessional. I applied online to work for Aerotek as a recruiter the end of August 2017. I received a call from a regional recruiter however I missed her call. I called back, left voicemail and emailed stating that my current position doesn't allow me to have my phone so I gave her my break times so that I would not miss her again. However, she continued calling at other times. Finally I got a hold of her on my off day and the call was literally two minutes. Basically going over the job and she'll email a complete job description &to get back to her if still interested. Okay ... I emailed her back and told her I am still interested and once again no response...I emailed again to check the status of my application about 4 days later and still nothing. Even an automatic reply saying they are moving on with other candidates would have been nice. But nope..Nothing..
