First I was e-mailed, called, then had a 1 on 1 interview. I live in Washington D.C. and was going to fly home to Grand Rapids, MI to visit family and was where the Scientific recruiter called me from. Although my job search would have been in Washington, D.C. the recruiter assured me she would be able to link me with the person in her position in D.C. when I returned and urged that we met in Grand Rapids. I decided to make some time in my trip schedule to meet with her for the interview. Our interview was pleasant but seemed very fake and like she had a hidden agenda. Departing, I felt like it was a waste of my time but hoped that I had read her body language and tone of voice incorrectly. However, as she said she would be calling me by the end of the week, gave me her card so I could tell my friends and family that are looking for jobs in the area and I never heard from her. I sent a follow up e-mail, left voicemails and still there was no response. Unfortunately, this place will not be able to regain their reputation with me or anyone that I know. It was unprofessional to not return any voicemails after a 3 week period nor a single e-mail. She did a good job though acting as if she was going to pull some strings for you so you could get back into the working world. I'm not sure what their system is but what I took away is that they need to meet their quotas and that's what this Scientific Recruiter had done to me.
