I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Albatross Labs (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
Easiest process imaginable. It's two rounds because there are only two full time employees. The founder does a "behavioral" round where he tries to ask about projects on your resume but it's clear he's never done a single research project himself and honestly would be better off having chatgpt read resumes in advance so he could ask stuff to not make him look like such a doofus. The other round is with the cofounder or whatever his title is and it's a basic coding question.
I should have declined the internship and seen all the red flags. If you ever ask yourself "how bad could it be?". I can assure you, it can be VERY bad.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Albatross Labs in Feb 2025
Interview
They seem to interview to steal alpha. Be careful. Crazy work.
Interviewer was only interested in grilling me about 1 strategy I worked on, insisting it could never work to get me to reveal more.
Concluded I didn't fit into the business because they're more focused on market making. I work at a market maker. He didn't ask me about my market making work. lol
