      Assistant Media Planner Interview

      27 Jul 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berkeley, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at AmpLive (Berkeley, CA) in May 2016

      Interview

They set up a phone interview which lasts about 15 minutes. Then they invite you to their office for a a couple of face-to-face interviews which is almost an hour. Afterward, they ask you to put together a campaign summary report using the attached AmpLive template. You can utilize the data from the dashboard screenshot as well as the raw data from the DSP report. They provide overall benchmarks on slide 4. On the final slide they ask for your own analysis of how the campaign went, including methods and strategies for improvement. Once you submit the completed assignment, they ask you to walk them through it over the phone. They don't give a lot of feedback but they do ask to clarify any confusing interpretations. If they like your work, they will invite you back to their office to meet the rest of the team. Towards the end of this meeting, I asked them when my start date would be and they said it would be August 1st. I took this as I had received the position. The next day I changed my LinkedIn profile to show that I have a new job. They emailed me the next day and informed me that one of their employees found out about my LinkedIn profile update which caused some internal confusion because they were still vetting other candidates. As a result, they removed me from their consideration.
