I had two phone interviews and one in-person. The interview process took 2 months. The first phone call and the second phone call were a month apart.
They asked me the same behavioral questions many different times, in different words during the phone interviews and during the in-person. The questions were extremely repetitive and felt like they were just checking these questions off a sheet of paper instead of making it a fluid conversation. I interviewed with two women during my in-person, one of which was much easier to talk to than the other, but it was clear that she was more junior to the other and therefore was not leading the interview as much. After meeting with them, I spoke with another two members of the team. One of them told me that he would be recording what I was saying and to not think that he was ignoring me- but it was extremely awkward. He really never made eye contact with me and looked less than enthused to be in the interview while he typed every word on his computer. It was definitely a strange way to interview someone. They asked me for 3-5 references which is quite a lot ( I haven't even had 5 jobs since graduation). My references told me that they asked pretty intensive behavioral questions once again. They asked about what my biggest weakness was and to tell them about a time that I handled a high-pressure situation, which are often hard to answer about someone else. My co-workers all said that it was the longest reference call they ever had. The team at iMedicare even emailed me to tell me that one of my references wasn't answering- so I was under the impression that they weren't comfortable extending an offer without speaking to at least 3 of more references.
Once they spoke with all of them, they extended me an offer. Even after sharing with them my current salary and what I was expecting in my next role, their offer was a still a full 12k less than what I was making at the time, which was extremely surprising. If they knew they weren't able to offer me at least close to what I was currently making, why would they continue with the interview? Overall a strange interview experience and a waste of time and energy of both mine and my references.
