      Mac Specialist (Apple Store) Interview

      11 Aug 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Apple in Jul 2011

      Interview

      * Group Interview Location: University Village area in Seattle * 1:1 Interview Location: Bellevue, WA Round 1: Group Interview (a.k.a "Hiring Event") ______________________________ After receiving an email confirming the date and time of the Hiring Event, you go there. You will meet with other applicants. As you walk into the room where the main event will take place, you are greeted with applause by a team of mainly Apple managers and leaders. The team members will introduce themselves to you, one by one. Then, it's your turn. You will stand in front of everyone and talk a little bit about yourself. Keep it 10-20 seconds preferably. Next is presentation from Apple staff. They'll show you slides and videos about Apple work life and ask you questions. Participation is highly encouraged. Next, you will break into small groups where you will asked various questions such as "Have you ever had such-and-such experience and how did you handle it?" Sharing your experiences from work or academia should work for these questions. Next, you will meet one-on-one with perhaps two Apple managers or leaders, one at a time. They'll ask you questions such as "How would you personalize a product" or "What are some advantages Macs have over PCs that you know of" or "What is customer service like to you" and so on. After that, you're pretty much done. Round 2: 1-to-1 Interview _______________________________ You will probably meet with a store leader. The leader will take you outside of the store but some place close. The leader will ask you questions like "What's going to help you do well at this store in the first 30 days?" or "Why Apple". General Advice _______________________________ Do not communicate inexperience: Don't say you're here to learn. I tried that and it didn't seem to work in the 1:1 interview session.
