I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Apple
Interview
Applied online on the careers website. After some time multiple recruiters reached out to ask four or five
administrative questions via email:
"- Where are you located?
- If required, are you open to relocating to [LOCATION]
- How did you hear about this role?
- Are you actively interviewing?
- If things progress to an offer, how much time would you need to get started with us?
- Will you need sponsorship or visa-related support from Apple in order to begin employment?
- If so, I will follow up with a list of questions for you to complete. "
After answering they hand you off to a recruiting coordinator to schedule an interview. This interview will immediately be a video call (they use WebEx, yuck) and they put in the invite that they have a dress-code.
What they don't tell you is that this first interview is actually the phone screen and is with the hiring manager. They don't let-on and see how you behave. They also don't give ANY specifics or details during this interview, it's all a bunch of non-specific vaguery and STAR personality questions. If you ask for any clarification they will tell you they can't go into specifics in this interview
Unfortunately they push hard for relocation and everyone has to go back into the office starting April 11, 2022. From what I gathered from multiple interviews, there is a huge waiting list for desk space at Apple Park in Cupertino. So I don't really know how any of those logistics are going to work.
In addition, I was told that Apple does not do Relocation or Sign-On bonuses unless you can furnish a screenshot of a competing offer or stock that you stand to lose.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
"Give me a test plan for a pen"
the hiring manager also declined to give acceptance criteria, any specifics about the use cases, the environments, the users, or the business use-case.
HR Screening, Interview with Manager, and a series of panel interviews. Lengthy interview process but pretty standard to most interviews today. Got to meet a great team and had conversational interviews
Call with manager, SQL and coding questions. the SQL questions seemed to be asked off the top of the manager’s head so the best preparation is to be well versed in simple SQL.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Apple (Cupertino, CA) in Jun 2025
Interview
Since I had interviewed for another QA role a couple of months back, I was directly screened for the "Hiring Manager round" this time.
It was a quick 30-min QA technical interview with a couple of behavioral questions.
I got enough time to ask HM a few questions at the end.
It has been good so far..
