Interview
1) Submit online application form and cover letter.
2) Skype Interview. Generally relaxed and asking things like: tell me about you, discuss your cv, what do you know about company, etc.
3) Coding assessment using KDB+. Quite easy and covers basic areas of the language.
4) Final interview at company site in Belfast. Three parts to this: flowchart based logic test, discussion with another developer on submitted assessment, and then normal interview. Usual questions like skype interview plus some technical questions on coding in general and with kdb.
The flowchart session is an important part so practice these. With 40 minutes available time quickly passes. This section I found strange as really don't see the relevance of tests to real world job. Yes, they do give insight to a person's ability in test and pressure situations. However, it doesn't highlight a person's ability to develop code or how they go about it.
