I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Audible (Newark, NJ) in Feb 2018
Interview
Emailed a recruiter. Got a HackerRank coding challenge. After completing it, they scheduled a technical phone interview with an engineer. After that went well, they scheduled another technical phone interview with me with a different team. After that went well, they scheduled two phone calls with the managers of two different teams. I had my first phone call with the manager and thought it went well. Then, I got a call later that same day from HR saying I did well and that they could just give me an offer to join the team I just talked to, and not have to talk to the other manager.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First interview: Given a message and a bunch of magazines, return whether you can construct the message by cutting out words from the magazine. Also return the page number the word shows up in a magazine.
Second Interview: Return whether an array of bytes is valid UTF-8 format.
First Call with manager: Introduced ourselves, then he asked me to go through my resume briefly with him, then he asked 10 short questions that were techy (e.g. are objects passed by reference to functions in python, name three cryptocurrencies, how does blockchain work, what is AWS's main storage service, etc.), and then he asked me about a situation on where I devised a technical solution I was particularly proud of.
Got a call from Audible a couple hours after this meeting saying they wanted to give me an offer to join the team with the manager I just talked to, and if I took it I wouldn't have to have a call with the second manager. So I just took the offer, since that team was my first choice anyways.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Audible (London, England) in Apr 2023
Interview
I needed to answer questions online, and then do an online assessment. Afterwards, it was a phone interview (around 30 mins) where they mostly ask you for your motivations to work at Audible, and then, if successful, they invite you to an assessment centre
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
During the assessment day, 20-something candidates go through one-to-none interviews (standard questions, looking at Audible's values), non-assessed workshop, and a group exercise where you listen to parts of podcasts and then discuss.
The interview went smoothly even though it was virtual. I felt a connection with my interviewer and I felt comfortable, despite initially being nervous. I was confident in my answers and I was able to ask some of my own questions at the end.

Interview
Really friendly. Consisted of two phone interviews and an assessment centre. I was interviewed by an array of different staff, which was nice as I got many perspectives on the company.
