Interview
Knowing what I know now, I would not apply to this company. The interview process was strange, and struck me as unprofessional. The interview process asked only surface level questions about my qualifications, and seemed to focus more on my ability to handle stress. Despite this, I pushed forward due to my excitement about the industry and opportunity. I wish I hadn't.
The interview process took the better part of a month to complete. Ultimately, when I had my final interview, I was told that I would be receiving an offer at the beginning of the week. It was not until the following Friday, that they ultimately decided not to hire me due to lack of experience for an entry level position. I can say confidently that I have never had this be an issue in my 4+ years of work experience. To add insult to injury, the email I received was clearly written last minute, as it contained multiple grammatical and capitalization errors.
While I am still excited about the additive manufacturing industry, I think there are better places to gain experience outside of this company. The questions asked in the interview threw up red flags. The impression I get is that the management team is very hard on employees.
Quick, 3 step process - CEO first, CTO and line manager. Plus a small work sample which was capped at 3 hours. Offer in within 1 week. It was all coordinated by their HR/Admin lady.
