Standard CV and cover letter followed by interviews. The first two stages (CV/cover letter and initial interview) were fine, but issues arose with the second interview. I honesty found it strange for a bar position to require a second interview, but as they work across multiple venues I didn't think too much of it. I arrived 5 minutes early, to be brought to the manager interviewing me mid-conversation and clearly annoyed at being interrupted. It was then revealed there was no space set aside for the interview, and we had to wander about looking for a room. When we found a room, he asked a generic "tell me about yourself?" and next to nothing else (outwith availability and whag tye of music I listened to). He took no notes, and appeared bored and in a rush to be rid of me. This was surprising, as my initial interview had gone extremely well.
After leaving, I received no follow up - even to say I hadn't received the job. I bumped into the woman who had initially interviewed me at a job fair a week later, to find she was surprised and disgruntled to see me looking for work still as she thought I had been contacted. She said she'd chase the manager to contact me, but he never did. Feel like I maybe dodged a bullet though, if they're that poorly organised.
