I've submitted an application 4 times. The first 3 times they never got back to me. The last time they did, and immediately said I had to do an assignment to test my abilities. For this, I was supposed to "allow for between 5-10 hours". Unpaid, of course. I submitted it, and after all of that in between an already busy work schedule, I got rejected less than 24 hours later with two lines of feedback where I misunderstood one question and the other I think wasn't really understood on their side. I think this hiring process is ridiculous. I have an already intense schedule trying to support myself, and I'm supposed to set aside 5 hours to do this, when I could have it done in 30 minutes in a personal interview where I can ask questions and perform to my highest ability. Absolutely ridiculous, and so insulting to ask people to do this just to be considered for a job, when the hiring team should actually do what they're supposed to do; interview and talk to people.
