      Product Owner Interview

      16 Sept 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Gainesville, FL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Blue Tees Golf (Gainesville, FL) in Aug 2024

      Interview

Very long. Initial interview with hiring manage, then panel interview with one of the founders and some other individuals who this position would interact with on a regular basis. Was then asked to complete a project (took me about 3 hours to do). I then presented the project to the hiring manager and he loved it and made it sound like I passed with flying colors and already had the job in the bag. I was then moved on to the final round and interviewed with the CMO and the COO (recent add to the company). The COO was late to the call and did not pay attention to anything during the interview. I had to correct him on multiple occasions during the interview. He clearly did not care to be there. This final interview was on a Thursday afternoon. I waited until the following Tuesday to ask for feedback from the recruiter. I finally heard back from her at 11:30 PM on Wednesday - "I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. I appreciate all the time you have invested in the interview process. We have decided to go in a different direction. I wish you the very best in your search." --- After investing at least 6 hours of my time between interviews and the project, all I got was a measly, unempathetic rejection email. They couldn't even pick up the phone and deliver the news or provide any feedback as to why I didn't get the position. I have since emailed both the recruiter and hiring manager back asking for feedback. Its been nothing but crickets. Very unprofessional company. 1st Interview to getting the news was 8/19-9/11.
