I received a referral for the role and was contacted later that day to set up a Zoom interview with a member of the talent acquisition team. The interviewer seemed somewhat disinterested during the interview and frequently looked away from the camera at something out of view. I thought he might have an external monitor although he never said so and it was distracting when answering his questions. Additionally, I was surprised by his very casual attire. I know Bluecore is a tech company so there isn't a strict dress code but I wore a suit and the interviewer was wearing sweats. I don't fault anyone for wearing what makes them comfortable but the Zoom interview is the first point of contact between a candidate and the company and I didn't feel it reflected well on the company. I didn't receive an offer but the recruiter later sent me a well-reasoned and considerate explanation and checked with his colleagues regarding other potential opportunities at the company which I definitely appreciated.
