Before the date of my interview for a sales representative, I had recieved another job offer that was paying much more, so I contacted them through email and let her know I would not be attending the interview as I accepted another offer. They called me the same day and let me know that they were going to be bringing on a Call Center Manager to the team and my resume seemed to be a good fit and the pay was closer to the offer I had on the table. Since this was a management role being offered now with comparable pay to my offer, I agreed to the interview.
Everything went great and the day after my interview, I was offered the job, however, they told me she had made a mistake and the base salary would be $10k less than we discussed. I was thrown back by this, but it was still a good salary and I accepted the job and turned down my other offer and put in my two weeks at my current job.
Exactly one week later, they call me and leave me a voicemail telling me they were sorry but they had to rescind my offer due to the owners wanting to go in a “different direction”. I called them back and told them I was confused and asked for more detail and they said it was nothing to do with me, but the owners are doing other things with the position.
Unfortunately I had to deal with the most unprofessional company and I would recommend not applying as they definitely don’t have things in order and they are not too concerned with the situation they now put someone in.
Better to have learned now than down the road I guess.
