I applied for a Client Services summer internship for summer 2017 in late January/early February last year. The process was extremely long and extremely drawn out. I received an email from Buzzfeed in late March 2017 to complete a virtual online interview. After completing that interview, I proceeded with two more rounds of interviews -- one with a Client Services manager and another with the Head of Client Services in NYC. The process took 5+ weeks from my first interview until I found out they had chosen to move forward with other applicants. I think Buzzfeed is a great company, ahead of the curve in so many ways, but they should improve how they hire interns. They start their process so late in the school year and are incredibly unresponsive and unprofessional in staying in contact with applicants and keeping them in the loop. Very disappointing and discouraging process. Not to mention they end up missing out on great industry talent by waiting so long and drawing the process out over several rounds separated by several weeks at a time.
