      Interview

Extremely Disrespectful. STAY AWAY FROM CANONICAL. You will be just ONE ROW OF DATA they collect in the name of job applications. I spent so much time on the application (written interview, psychometric assessment, and technical assessment) that I got rejected immediately after submitting the last one. The whole process is designed to collect HIGHLY PERSONAL DATA and not for hiring (in my opinion).

      People Data Analyst Interview

      13 Jul 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Canonical in Jun 2024

      Interview

They sent me a written interview consisting of 1.5 pages of questions. I wrote like 6 pages with 3 days work. Then, they sent intelligence testing quesitons. They then sent a technical interview, giving a one-week timeline. After solving it in a week and submitting it, I developed it for another two weeks. I interviewed with one person from each of the IT, human resources and workplace analytics teams. The interviews went well because I prepared very well for the interviews. I presented the technical case during the Workplace interview. The interviewer said I worked hard. But it was as if he had already made up his mind before the interview and listened to what I did out of symbolism. They were not very keen, probably due to my lack of previous work experience. However, the position I applied for was a junior position and this was obvious when I sent my CV before any interviews. If you're not going to make a decision based on the technical interview, why did you take three full weeks of my time with a technical interview? Afterwards, when I sent e-mails for feedback, no one responded. This is not a nice attitude for a company that says it values people so much.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

General questions about my cv, written interview, and technical interview, not specific and difficult questions.
