I had an initial screening call with the Regional BD Manager, followed by a one-hour interview with the Regional Business Development Manager and the MD. The interview itself was fairly standard, mostly competency-based questions, overall the discussion was positive and they said they were impressed at the end.
However, concerns were raised about whether I might get bored in the role due to my experience. What stood out more was the lack of due diligence on the area they wanted me to cover. It was clear they had not properly researched the requirements of the region, which is surprising and concerning for a recruitment agency that should pride itself on preparation and market understanding.
I was told I would receive feedback by the end of the week, but four weeks later I have had no follow-up at all. Despite an initially positive impression, the complete lack of communication shows a disappointing level of professionalism.
For a company operating in education recruitment, where diligence, credibility and follow-through are essential, the absence of feedback or follow-up has left a poor impression of the company and its professionalism.
