I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Charles Schwab in Sept 2011
Interview
This was a fairly traiditional interview process, nothing exceptional. The initial screening was performed by a Schwab recruiter. A series of phone interviews lasting 30-60 minutes was scheduled. Questions basically followed my resume, with one or two fairly simple technical questions. An onsite interview followed which was pretty much an all day affair, with individual interviewers throughout the day. Nothing more technical than a couple trips to the whiteboard writing pseudo-code. Everyone was otherwise very professional and candid about working at Schwab.

Question 1
How would you like to leave your mark here, in five years time?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Charles Schwab (Denver, CO) in Sept 2015
Interview
There was 1 initial call, 1 tech screen call, and 1 on-site interview where I met with both the development team and management. The initial calls were about an hour each, and the on-site was a total of roughly 3 hours.
During the entire process, I was both asked whether I understood a variety of software development topics as well as to give a small example of each where applicable.
