      Corporate Strategy Manager Interview

      11 Jan 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Charles Schwab

      Interview

I was reached out to by a third party recruiter who shared my reassume with their internal HR team. I did a behavioral HR interview then moved on to a ‘case style’ interview with the hiring manager. That interview went well and they invited me to participate in a ‘take-home case,’ in which I was given a week to prepare a presentation and quantitative analysis. During that week I got COVID and had rough symptoms. I had to take sometime to rest. I ended up not getting the job because I didn’t complete the case in time due to being sick. Personally, I wouldn’t want to work somewhere that isn’t understanding to me prioritizing my physical and mental health. I also wouldn’t recommend any to work in that environment

      Corporate Strategy Manager Interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Charles Schwab

      Interview

Schwab has the most incompetent recruiting I have ever seen. They had and still have a number of internal strategy roles seeking candidates with 2-3 years of management consulting experience, Techhnology Strategy Manager, Corporate Strategy Manager, and Investor Services Strategy Manager. I have two years of management consulting. The recruiter just dropped the ball. I don't know what she does all day. I know that she doesn't bother presenting candidates to the relevant hiring managers, so I can only assume she is twiddling her thumbs. I had an initial phone conversation with her in July and she never followed up. I followed up inquiring into whether the hiring managers had viewed my resume. She said they hadn't and I just decided to forget about Schwab. But they keep on constantly reposting the positions. I reached out to her in November and she said just apply online. An hour later I received an auto rejection. They're totally incompetent and it's obvious that my resume was never viewed by a live human. Recruiting is a complete joke, doesn't care about the candidate experience, and wastes people's time. It just goes to show that Schwab is a dinosaur of a company.
