I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at CheapDeals (Makati City) in Feb 2019
Interview
I applied via Indeed and was called for an interview. I had a difficulty in finding their office in Makati.
When I arrived at their office, a receptionist entertained me. They were actually nice and all. They asked me my résumé and was told to wait for the interview with the hiring manager.
My interview with the hiring manager was a bit difficult. You really have to know your craft to answer the questions. Since an interview is a two-stay street, I made sure ask questions about the company.
I have gleaned that they are a startup, and they only have three employees so far! Also, they share a small working space with a different company. It’s kinda hard to judge them and easy to forgive their slip-ups since they are just building everything from scratch. The interview was fast, and I was asked to wait again at the lobby.
My second interview was okay, too. The interviewer was nice. They just asked questions from my résumé. Before concluding our meeting, they asked me to take home two assignments: a press release and a blog post. They also asked me to come back the following week to talk about the assignments.
In the end, I sent a thank you e-mail with my apologies to cancel my second would-be interview. They are just starting up, and it’s not yet the right time for me to join them.
